Overview
“If I had 24 hours to cut a tree, I would sharpen my saw for 23 hours. The top is only as strong as the foundation it is built on.”
If you're new to parkour, look no further. This is the first class you need to sign up for before you want to try out anything in parkour.
Here you will begin your first steps into your parkour journey (literally), as you first learn the building-blocks of movement like learning to move using different parts of the body, how to land properly and safely in various situations, maintaining balance under different circumstances, and finally some theory and background on parkour. Then you will split up your training to cover other broad spectrum of training such as jump work, wall work, bar work, vault work, safety, etc, and learn the basics of each sub-set.
We have organized and structured all the basics of human locomotion into this three-tiered bootcamp, where you will get to learn all the nuts and bolts of human movement in an intense, 12-week training program. You will undergo training in a sequential manner within the three levels, and can only move to a higher level after completing a previous level. All the time, you will also be undergoing an exercise and conditioning program that helps to get you in-shape for the rigors required by the practice of this discipline.
After completing all three levels, you will have learnt the fundamentals of parkour and freerunning, and should be able to safely practice it outside on your own, and apply it to different environments outside the gym. You will also be able to use your skills in a situation, should one ever arise.
Level 1:
You Learn - You will learn the basic building blocks of movement in this level, without which it is not possible to learn any further locomotion techniques. In certain cases, it can even be dangerous to attempt stuff without having a grip on the building blocks. Your training begins with learning some theory and background on parkour, after which you learn things like moving in various different ways (bipedal, quadrupedal, etc.), landing safely in different situations, various ways of maintaining balance, and the bread and butter of parkour - tucks and rolls.
Duration - 2 weeks.
You Get - Certificate of Completion, and Reward Badge for finishing Level 1.
Prerequisites - None. All beginners and newcomers begin here. Welcome to Parkour Mumbai, new Recruit.
Level 2:
You Learn - Here your training will be divided into various categories of movement, such as wall work, bar work, vault work, jump work, safety training, etc., and you will spend a week learning the basics of each category. You will then learn to chain together all the things you have learnt so far, and put them together for solving problems, and also for runs.
Duration - 6 weeks.
You Get - Certificate of Completion, and Reward Badge for finishing Level 2.
Prerequisites - Successfully complete Level 1 and produce certificate at time of enrollment to Level 2.
Level 3:
You Learn - In this level you continue with the weekly categorization of broad movement patterns, and you learn a few more advanced techniques of locomotion in each category, as well as spending some time practicing and drilling everything you have learnt so far.
Duration - 4 weeks.
You Get - Certificate of Completion, and Reward Badge for finishing full Basics Bootcamps.
Prerequisites - Successfully complete Level 2 and produce certificate at time of enrollment to Level 3.
