| New Year, New Direction. |

January 1, 2013 by NOS |
| New Classes Available! We are pleased to announce that we have just made a very major change to the way we run our parkour classes. Our classes are now going to be split up into Basics-Bootcamps, and Intermediate-Ongoing-Training. In addition to these two offerings, we also have several new exiting class types in store for you that we plan on launching soon. So far we had been running an ongoing training program in which trainees of all levels trained together, simultaneously. Owing to logistical reasons, we are now splitting up the beginners from the intermediates, so that neither gets in the way of the other, and our trainers are better able to focus on each group. This way, no matter what level you are training at, you get maximum benefit out of your time spent at Parkour Mumbai. In light of this, we have split up our training into several levels. The Beginners Bootcamps will be held over 3 levels, and will last for a total period of 12 weeks (3 months). All newcomers who want to learn parkour from us will need to undergo and complete the Beginners Bootcamps, before proceeding onto any additional training at Parkour Mumbai. The Beginners Bootcamps will be held in periodic batches. We will be taking a limited number of people per batch. Also, we will adequately notify about new upcoming batches all over our internet channels well in advance. People who are just looking to have some fun, and do not wish to engage in serious training, may check out our Fun With Movement class instead. No prior parkour training or Beginners Bootcamp is necessary for enrolling in this class. (Class to be started soon.) For full program details on each of the different types of classes, please visit this webpage. We are also commencing offering Strength-Training training and consultation sessions for those people who are looking to get strong and improve their fitness. This program is beneficial to everyone and not just parkour trainees - including sedentary, desk-bound people, children, housewives, older people, etc., because Strength is a universal attribute. At the same time, even our parkour trainees will benefit from this program. For full details, please visit this page. Happy New Year, everyone. May this year bring you better levels of physical capability and wellbeing. |

The session will about soft tissue management, i.e. proper maintenance of soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments). The workshop was originally scheduled to take place at the gym, but the venue had to be changed to the K11 Fitness Academy at Santacruz (E) at the last minute due to gym non-availablity. Anyone who wishes to attend the workshop, please email us. Click the `Read More` link below to learn the full details about the workshop. |

| Website Overhaul in Progress |

July 31, 2012 by NOS |
| Hey guys, it's time for another major overhaul of the website. We're changing the look and feel of several sections of the website, and we'll also be adding a lot of new sections, new content, etc., and possibly removing some older, redundant sections from the website over the coming few months. Since all of our website's development is done in-house and mostly handled by a single person, with some occassional assistance from a Pk-Mum friend, we tend to take our own sweet time in implementing changes to the site. Also, since this is a small web project, we make our changes to the website online. So this is a heads-up once again to let you know that should certain portions of the website behave in an odd manner, or do not display properly, do not worry, it just means we goofed somewhere while debugging, and the site should be back to normal again soon. |

| Some New Videos |

July 30, 2012 by NOS |
| We've been working on quite a few videos this year. Unfortunately, since we completely forgot to update the news section, we'll have to club posting all of them right here, in this news post. First, we released two videos earlier this year from all of last year's unused footage. The first of these was a chase-based training game that we played in class in Jan last year, but which never got round to being edited. You can watch it here. Next, we had laid out a speed-based O-Course over at our Third Anniversary Jam, toward the end of the jam, after most people had left. This video, taking inspiration from F1 (NOS being a HUGE F1 fan), sets the pulse racing with some blazing (and some not so blazing) course times in the speed round. Watch it here. This concludes the last vestiges of our association with the disastrous year, 2011, and now we begin to look forward to newer vistas in 2012. We had some interesting training sessions this summer, and here's a video compliation of the stuff we did back then. |

| Lackluster Fourth Anniversary - Looking Ahead |
|
posted on
July 24, 2012 by NOS |
| So we conclude a very lackluster Fourth Anniversary of running the Parkour Mumbai Parkour Classes, and the country's only Parkour Gym. All-in-all, the feeling was very different from our past anniversaries, with none of the older students present, nor the birthday-boy present, and it didn't feel much like a class anniversary, but more like a regular class. We didn't even shoot any videos this time. We did, however, gather all the currently enrolled students in class, and taking a break from tradition, celebrated the anniversary in quite a different style - by attending a night-screening of a movie, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. I don't know about the others, but I don't regret my choice of the movie for one second (actually, the movie was the Gorilla's choice), and had a kick-ass time watching it. Anyway, all's well that ends well, as they say, and despite many older PkMum traditions having been broken at this year's anniversary, we're looking forward to better days ahead. Already the winds of change are blowing at Parkour Mumbai. Time for us to take yet another new direction. |

| Everyone please note that I have appointed a new admin on our Facebook Page, Anuj Dubey. It's about time people other than myself started handling matters relating to Parkour Mumbai, since our workload is beginning to increase again after many years of my taking care of things solo. In the coming months, Anuj will be taking on more responsibilities to handle on behalf of Parkour Mumbai along with handling just our Facebook Page. Anuj has already been informally handling PkMum administrative matters over the past few months, and was a great help to me in organizing the massive National Jam, sharing my burdens where necessary, and overall ensuring I didn't go crazy in the process. Congratulations to Anuj for getting the promotion made formalized, the newly appointed official spokesperson of Parkour Mumbai. Handle your charge well. |

| National Jam 2012 Report |

posted on
June 1, 2012 by NOS |
| On May 6, 2012, Parkour Mumbai successfully concluded the biggest Parkour Jam the country had yet seen, as visitors from over 5 cities across the country, (and even one visitor from overseas who landed up in Mumbai just for our jam) descended upon the Parkour Mumbai gym, along with many, many others from the city, for three full days of fun and games, and seminars. Sadly, I was pretty-much unavailable to witness most of it, since I had taken on the responsibility of jam organizer and host, and had to look into the accommodation and food arrangements of all the guests that were staying at the gym, which ended up taking my full-time attention. And I wasn't around in town to post anything about the jam, because I left town for a month-long trip the very next day after the jam. All-in-all, we hit some pretty neat attendance figures, with the highest number of people ever at a Parkour Jam in India in a day, as well as the highest total number of people to ever attend a Parkour Jam in India spread out over all three days. In addition to that, we also held some very important seminars about Safety, Strength Training, and a Practical Barbell Training session, videos for which should be up in the near future. We would also wish to thank our guest speaker, Mr. Kaizzad Capadia of K11 Fitness, who gave a very highly informative four hour talk on the importance of Strength Training for sports and for Parkour performance, and remain grateful to him for this gesture. I daresay it ended up opening quite a few eyes in the country's traceur body about the proper way to train for Parkour. Unfortunately no one clicked any photos of this stupendous, unprecedented event, but we do have two video edits of the same. Here's Parkour Nasik's version of the event, and here's a video edit by Parkour Kolkata. |

| Check out the video Shivam of Parkour Nasik has released of the Pk-Mum Pk-Day, titled, as expected, 'Unfinished Dreams'. We also have some pictures of the Jam in this album. Overall, it was a lackluster jam, with more participation from traceurs from Nasik than from Mumbai (shame on you, Mumbai's traceurs), but we all had a lot of fun this time, precisely because our numbers were so few. Because of that, and largely because of distinct absense of the noisesome girls this time, we were actually able to focus on serious training, and had some cool training sessions, and topped it all off with what we had gone there to do in the first place - play Parkour Chase games. An interesting thing happened on the way to the jam this time though, that made the even trip even more sweet. Spotted all along our route on the Expressway was an entire parade of vintage cars, a real sight to behold - from old Rolls Royces to Jaguars, to Bentleys. Apparently they were headed over to an exhibition being conducted on top of the very hill under whose valley we were headed to for jumping around. |
