PKDay - Mumbai - Orkut Archive

Going through some older threads, I found myself extremely drawn towards fulfilling one of Akshat's wishes, which can be found here -
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17

Feedback thread for the above can be found here -
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18

Sorry guys, you won't get the video thread or the actual video for that jam, it's an embarrassment.

Anyway, getting back to the topic on hand,
Akshat wanted around 25-30 people to show up for the first Mega-Jam, and only 8 showed up. The aniversary for that historic event is coming up, so I have decided to hold another such mega-jam this year. Only, we will hold it more in the style of the UF PK-Days. Hopefully, we should get a lot more people to attend this year, simply because there are a lot more practitioners now than there were then.

For one, there are the main Team NUTs/Team XTM members, then there are all the students of both our batches. Then there are also small, discrete spread-out groups of traceurs all over town, for instance, 2 guys each from New Panvel, Vashi, Ulhasnagar, then there are a few people from Mulund (not counting Ashish's old group), and also a few inactive people from the Matunga and South Mumbai areas.

After careful deliberation, taking into account things like National/Religious holidays and the like, I have come upon the closest date to the aniversary of last year's event, and the one this year will be held on -

Sunday, Nov 16, 2008.
The location is Nerul at the convention center. The timing is 8:00 AM. The duration of it could last all day long.
Be there!
And don't forget to bring something to eat like energy bars, snacks and the like, and your own supplies of water.

Also Apurva, Parth and Ajay, please bring your camcorders, and others with digicams please carry those as well. Anyone else who also happens to have a camcorder can also bring theirs.

If this thing this year is big enough, maybe from the next event onwards, we could hold something even bigger, something closer to an actual PK-Day, and invite traceurs from all over the country. Would be great fun!

So this time no one has any reason to complain, because I am giving everyone more than adequate notice for the jam, that is, four months in advance.
So please people, I don't want to hear any excuses this time around, so if you have anything - school, college, office, college projects, office work, any other project, dates, shoots, hikes, treks, other plans with friends, exams, out-of-town plans, visiting relatives, visiting on-death-bed relatives, weddings, parties, plans to drop/recieve relatives/friends at station/airport, appointments, meetings, life altering out of the world experiences, or any other such shit (the above list is just indicative, not exhaustive), make sure to strike Sun, Nov 16, 2008 off those plans, and take sick/casual/death/coerced/whatever leave from college/school/office/friends/family or wherever for that particular day 4 months in advance! You have been warned! I want all traceurs from Mumbai to attend this thing.

This thing is open to all traceurs, past, present and future, from Mumbai, the surrounding areas of Mumbai and its satellite townships, and also to any other traceur from anywhere else in the country/world, should they choose to attend.

Next up, if this thing gathers enough momentum, we can start organising Asian Trace Gatherings!

Who said you can only have all the fun if you're in the UK-France-WesternEurope belt?

Just to make the location extra clear for those not in with the NUTs' code names - the 'Convention Center' in Nerul is the little garden area with the rocks, next to the fountain, right in front of the main entrance to Nerul Station in the East side.

No, too much heat. We've had trouble there before when we were a small group, so we can't risk taking such a large gathering of traceurs there all at once.
