Here's a fun opportunity for all you guys who practice parkour, and even for those who claim to practice parkour. A fun way in which to test your skills, compare yourself with your own goals, test how far you have progressed, have a load of fun along the way, and even get the chance to appear on TV.
Yes, you heard me right, you get to appear on TV, and no, this isn't the Indian version of the Barclaycard World Freerun Championships, but instead, is the Indian version of the famous game show Takeshi's castle (pardon me if I've gotten the spelling wrong, I don't watch TV).
You will get to jump around, cross obstacles, and test out all your parkour/freerun faculties that you've earned hard over the past few years. And the best part is, if you are thoroughly tested by some really hard obstacle, you can still attempt it and not worry about breaking your limbs in the Big Fall you have, because it will be entirely safe. And fun!
A television production company has approached Parkour Mumbai to invite traceurs to appear on an upcoming game show based on the popular japanese show Takeshi's Castle, where you will be required to "jump , hang , swing , spin , balance , run , slide , cross hurdles and most of all; get ready for a Big Fall!".
So in short, it's pretty much based on the principles of Parkour, so that's why they thought it would be a great idea to feature actual traceurs.
For entering the show, you will first have to undertake an audition, and then, if you are selected, you will be taken further from there. The auditions are going to be held on the 15th, 16th, and 17th of Feb at a studio in Malad (W). Although, I am not sure which day will be allotted specifically to traceurs. And I have also not been informed about the actual date the filming will take place. So if you are planning to enter, plan a little flexibility in your schedules, and be prepared for last minute notices.
This thing is open to all traceurs who are over 17 years of age, and are physically fit, and full of enthusiasm, and a fun person to be around.
ALL traceurs are invited, provided you meet with the production company's requirements above.
